James Lamb Memorial Scholarship
In loving memory of James Lamb, who passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 25th, 2026, his family wished for the James Lamb Memorial Scholarship to be established in his honor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to support this fund.
This scholarship serves as a tribute to James's enduring spirit, providing an aspiring musician the opportunity to attend the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Harmony University program. By contributing to this fund, you are directly supporting the education and growth of passionate individuals who share James’s everlasting love for vocal harmony and the art of barbershop singing.
James’s love for a cappella harmony was infectious, leaving an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to know him. His steadfast support for the Barbershop Harmony Society's mission continues to inspire us and will continue to long after his passing. We will dearly miss his incredible devotion, intense love, and immeasurably joyful spirit.

2026 James Lamb Memorial Scholarship applications are open!
Please apply at THIS LINK to be considered as a potential recipient of the inaugural round of the James Lamb Memorial Scholarship.
The 2026 Scholarship is open to BHS members, 30 years of age or under, who are affiliated with a Mid-Atlantic District chorus.
Scholarship applicants should explain how Harmony University will contribute not only to their personal growth as a musician but also to their capacity for chapter or chorus leadership.
The 2026 Scholarship is $2,000 to cover advance HU general registration (including room and board) and up to $600 in reimbursable travel expenses.
Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 24th at 5:00PM. Notifications are anticipated by Friday, May 8th.
